In diesem Fall ist die Systematik der Literaturrecherche transparent darzulegen und zu dokumentieren. Neben der Wiedergabe des Forschungsstands werden im Hauptteil verschiedene theoretische Ansätze und Modelle analysiert, kategorisiert und bewertet, um die zentrale Forschungsfrage beantworten zu können. Der Vorteil einer theoretischen Arbeit liegt bei der besseren Planbarkeit des Arbeitsaufwands und dem geringeren Koordinationsaufwand, z.B. bei der Datenerhebung und dem Feldzugang. Herausforderungen liegen beim Umfang und Systematik einer Literaturrecherche sowie die Abhängigkeit von aktuellen Quellen.

Je nach Forschungsstand und Fragestellung können Sie mit quantitativen oder qualitativen Methoden bzw. auch mit einem Mixed Method Design arbeiten. Der Vorteil bei empirischen Projekten ist, dass Sie ein eigenständiges Werk schaffen, damit zur Erweiterung des Wissens in einem spezifischen Feld beitragen und sich eine Expertise erarbeiten, die Ihnen einen erfolgreichen Start in die Berufspraxis ermöglicht. Herausforderungen liegen hier bei einem hohen Koordinationsaufwand sowie fundierten Kenntnissen bei der Durchführung von Untersuchungen nach wissenschaftlichen Kriterien.

In addition to the reproduction of the state of research, different theoretical approaches and models are analyzed, categorized and evaluated in the main part in order to be able to answer the central research question. The advantage of a theoretical paper lies in the better plannability of the workload and a lower coordination effort, e.g.  data collection and field access. Challenges lie in the scope and systematic nature of a literature search as well as the dependence on current sources.

325 In an empirical project, you conduct research directly on an object of investigation and document your findings based on data obtained and analyzed. Depending on the state of research and the research question, you can work with quantitative or qualitative methods or even with a mixed method design. The advantage of empirical projects is that you create an own unique work, thus contributing to the expansion of knowledge in a specific field and developing an expertise that will enable you to successfully start your professional career.
